For many years, Bali kratom was the standard. Most kratom companies only offered regular, super and premium Bali, and occasionally some Maeng Da and the rare “Bali Gold Kratom”. There is good reason for this too, as it is one of the most potent and cheap strains of kratom to produce, making it affordable and widespread.
However, what you may not know, is that most strains once advertised as Bali kratom typically weren’t from Bali, in fact, they are typically shipped from southern or western Borneo and were initially labeled Bali due to its use as a shipping hub. However, this doesn’t mean that this variety of kratom is entirely a hoax, as it still represents a particular strain, once very common. For those looking to buy bali kratom, definitely read below and ensure that the strain fits your needs.
Bali kratom has a variety of different effects which make it still one of the most desirable strains of kratom, and these effects differentiate it from many other strains of kratom in a big way. Some of these prominent effects are as follows:
The hallmark of all Bali kratom effects, is its prominent pain killing / analgesia. This effect, combined with the fact that it is typically affordable, contributes dramatically to its popularity among those who suffer from chronic pain.
Those looking for a high quality kratom for pain, which was once often labeled premium Bali kratom, will do well with a red vein. However, one should note that red vein varieties are one of the most sedating, so inexperienced or sensitive users may want to ensure they don’t have anything too important planned.
Another very prominent effect of Bali kratom is its relaxation and anti-anxiety effects, which are another reason that it is so desired. Though there have been no definitive studies done on these effects, many users report having a dramatic reduction of anxiety from it, which seems fairly consistent, especially with the red and green vein varieties.
Like pain killing, relaxation from kratom is occasionally accompanied by sedation, and this tends to be the case with the majority of Bali strains; because of this, if you are looking for a Balinese strain for energy, you are best off sticking to a white vein Bali.
One of the most infrequently mentioned effects about this variety of kratom is its changes on appetite, which appear to be erratic. While most people report it enhances their appetite, some experience the very opposite. Because of this, personal experience is often necessary in order to see how it will affect you.
One drawback when it comes to Bali strains, is that they are much more dose sensitive than many other strains. Exceeding a certain dose, depending on your body weight, constitution and sensitivity, can yield some side effects. The most common of these side effects is known as “The Wobbles” which is characterized by the difficulty in focusing the eyes, causing a sort of perceptible nystagmus, which can lead to nausea in some. Because of this, it is essential to make sure your doses is within a reasonable range for you.
For those who are interested, this strain has a few unique properties that separate it from many other strains. The first characteristic found in almost all Bali types is that the leaves are dramatically darker than many other strains. When drying, this becomes much more apparent, as the chlorophyll which initially gave the plant its dark green color, tends to turn brown. This is especially the case with the red vein varieties that still have some vein content.
Another unique property of Bali strain trees is their growth rate. In comparison to many other strains, Bali grows very quickly. While we are not sure why this is (we are definitely not distinguished botanists), it may have to do with the plant’s darker colored leaves absorbing more sunlight and CO2 in comparison to paler kratom strains, which tend to grow more slowly.
While the previous name scheme of “Super Bali Kratom”, and “Premium Bali Kratom” was once very helpful in distinguishing different types, we have grown to prefer distinguishing by vein type, as it tends to be a more reliable predictor of effects.
Red vein bali kratom been the staple variety for years, due to their characteristically “Bali-eque” effects, including analgesia, relaxation and anxiety relief, similar to other red veined strains, such as Borneo varieties. This variety has a fairly predictable potency throughout seasons and grow conditions in comparison to both green and white vein varieties, and it is fairly potent. For a first timer who wants to get a feel for this region’s strains, this is a great choice.
Green vein Bali kratom is very similar to its red vein cousin, but is typically slightly less analgesic and sedating. While the potency of this variety on average is a bit lower than its red variety, some of the best strains of Bali I have ever encountered were green vein Bali, which is very interesting. This can be a good choice for those with pain or need anxiety relief, but don’t want the high level of sedation.
While white vein Bali kratom is characteristically the least “bali-esque” in effects, it can be an amazing strain if grown correctly, as it combines some of the pain relief and relaxation potential with a level of clear-headed energy. Like other white veins, it can be hard to find a high quality white vein Bali, but when you do you won’t regret the effort spent.
In order to get the most out of this variety of kratom, it is essential to get the dose right. This will help potentiate the effects without any side effects. While there are general dosage guidelines for Bali, it can certainly vary depending on the individual, empty or full stomach, and stomach acidity. Because of this, it is a good idea to start at the lower end of the scale. A general dosage guideline is:
While this dosage guideline is not comprehensive, staying in the moderate dosage range makes side effects much less likely to occur.

With current legislation pending, it seems kratom may no longer be legal in the United States. Although we haven't sold kratom directly in over a year, this legislation will negatively impact hundreds of thousands throughout the country. Please contact your local congressmen.
